My father who passed away Sept 24 2000 was a Korean vet,
he refused to tell us about his experiences in Korea. Searching through his
stuff we found the telegraphs of his being MIA and eventual proof he was a POW.
My brother and I would like to create a cdrom of his life and are looking for
info. on Hill 355 "Little Gibraltor" He was captured on Oct 23 1952
his unit was RCR 3rd batallion b company this may not be totally accurate as the
army telegraphs conflict on his unit some say 2nd and some say third battalion,
his rank was as a private. Anyone with info on him or this battle could you
please email me as his story needs to be told. His name was James William
Cranston and went by Jim. He was 18 when he went to Korea and signed up in
Hamilton On. We have all the telegraphs and newspaper articles from that era and
wish to share them with other Korean vet. Thanks in advance for your help Kevin
Cranston.

Glad to see there is a website regarding the veterans of
the Korean War. My uncle Elwin Reginald O'Hara was in the RCHA as a gunner. He
was stationed in Germany on guard duty. If anyone has any information regarding
my uncle or was in the same battalion with him, I would like to hear from them.
He died of diabetes in 1969 in Toronto, ON. I have a photo of his battalion.

I as the son of a Man who was at hill 282 is Proud of the
fact that a Canadian Soldier ( Platoon Sargent. PPCLI)told Me more than My
Father ever Disscussed or choose to tell me .What is Dissapointing to Me is that
A man who is and Did Serve Canada For his Adult time in life isnt on your Site.
This may be politics or just a miss information of details but it does seem sad
to me as a Proud son of Scotland that a Son of Canada could be Missed this Way
.This May Be just My opinion but This Man gave me more Info on that Day in Korea
than the Argyllls RHQ did and For that He has My Gratefull Thanks. you May chose
to ignore Me and thats Fine but I am the Son of A vet of Korea and If the Sons
and Daughters dont remember then all will forget to soon and this is a sad thing
to happen as the Men and Women of Canada and other Democratic Counties had not
done what you did then we as a after generation would not be living the life we
all enjoy today. And just for your info it was Hill 282
